Last week I felt like I was stuck in my series with no ideas and I started to waste a lot of time trying to brainstorm. I thought to myself that if I wasn't coming up with any ideas for the second piece, then I should probably find a new direction. So last week I decided to change my idea. My new series is going to be portraits that include someone from different stages of life that personally connect to me. I am going to use people in my family or close relatives. The stages I will focus on are infancy, childhood, adolescence, early adulthood, midlife, mature adulthood, late adulthood, and death. These acrylic paintings are going to be a posterized style in gray scale. I am choosing gray scale because grey is a neutral and balanced color, which I feel can also be powerful. The pieces will have colors that come close to black and white, which also provide purity and power.
