Artist Statement
As an artist at South Western High School, my journey in art started when I first arrived. One of my first classes of high school was drawing and painting one, and I decided to take the class because I thought that maybe I would have an interest in art. Throughout that class and as I finished it, I realized that I really enjoy art and would like to continue creating pieces. During drawing and painting 2 and 3, I really experimented with different types of art with different mediums and I really found out what I like most. I mostly enjoy acrylic painting and also enjoy pencil drawings. I usually prefer to paint or draw fairly realistic photos, but I will edge out and do other types of paintings or drawings. All my art pertains to something I feel is important in my life or an aspect of life that is interesting to the human eye. My philosophy of art is to create whatever comes up in my mind and express it. If I think of something crazy then I feel like I need to put it on paper or a canvas somehow. When I share my work, I make sure my finished piece is eye catching to the viewer so hopefully they take some time to look at my work.
